"You Can Have Your Records
Back, I've Got 8-Tracks"

By Joseph McCombs

I've been everyplace I could have gone
So where else can a man go?
I stuck around to see the Dawn
And even saw Tony Orlando.

I spun around the karmic wheel
Along with Captain and Tennille.

Adventures never got too scary
And I never handled them wrongly
So long as I heeded Debbie Harry
When she still went by Blondie.

The Copa dancers went to and fro
Speaking of Barry Manilow.

I've come away a richer man
And always will remember
Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, and
The man they called John Denver.

Call me a relic, call me a freak:
I've got the greatest hits of Chic!
