"She Covers Me"

by Joseph McCombs

She signs her name with a question mark
And smiles when you ask her what it means
If that's all it takes to steal my heart
No wonder I'm coming apart at the seams

It seems like rainbow chasing,
But for now, that's enough --
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          I'm in love.

Her aspirations are diffuse
To me they never made a lot of sense
She tells me, "Baby, what's the use
If you can't be your own main event"

Staying up all night watching reruns,
I think I've heard enough --
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          I'm in love.

All alone in a restaurant, she laughs beyond control
Counting out the hundred sugar packets that she stole
I've given up my sanity for surrealistic songs
I think I'll spend my life with her, if we both live that long

And smoking up under an apple tree,
We're in the skies above --
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          She covers me in madness,
          I'm in love.
          I'm in love.
          I'm in love.
