"Do More To Do More"
by Joseph McCombs
Do more to do more
The lifestyle drives you crazy
Do more to do more
The logic just escapes me
At a party last night
We couldn't keep our noses clean
I didn't feel quite right
But you were hitting the scene
So we did rips the whole night
Until you couldn't feel it
And you asked if I was all right
But I knew you didn't mean it
And whatever goes up
Has gotta come down
So sure enough
When we came around
You were throwing up
I was feeling down
And you said, "Love,
Should we do another round?"
Do more to do more
You get caught in the ring
Do more to do more
Burns holes in everything
Now I read in the news today
An agent couldn't quit the stuff
He went the rehab way
Five times, still wasn't enough
Celebrated his birthday
Hanging from a shower head
And then the very next day
Two more of his friends were dead
One of them was me
And one of them was you
We never could agree
On how much we should do
It all was just a dream
But before it comes true
I really think that we
Have some talking to do
Do more to do more
The lifestyle drives you crazy
Do more to do more
The logic just escapes me
I have spent the past five weeks
Feeling jittery and cold
I don't think I love you anymore
And I just want to go home
Back
