"Emerald Anywhere"
by Joseph McCombs
I see her in emerald, her kisses are jasmine
And wind-whispered birdsongs alight on the trees
Here in the sun-seared afternoon August
No one but us could know moments like these.
Under a tree, sharing light conversation
A pot dream response to the demands of the heat
Closing my eyes, I feel lips upon mine
And I know for the first time, my life is complete.
I like Tuesday afternoons
And I like Wednesdays in her hair
And I will follow, I will follow her anywhere.
Under a tree, sharing light conversation
A pot dream response to the demands of the heat
Closing my eyes, I feel lips upon mine
And I know for the first time, my life is complete.
I see her in emerald, her kisses are jasmine
Her hands are in mine, and her head's on my chest
Here in the sun-seared afternoon August
I've seen things come and go, and know my love is the best.
I like Thursdays in the park
And I like Fridays in the air
And I will follow, I will follow her anywhere.
