Miracle Healer
by Leah L. Cole
It comes upon swift, quiet feet
A creeping, fluid blanket
Almost alive, as if it were breathing softly
Enveloping in damp coolness
All the land as dusk turns to night—
Swirling eddies blot out man-made scars
Mend the cruel rents in the earth
Amplify Nature's night song,
Drawing me into fluid unison
Wrapping about my shoulders
A gentle veil of anonymity.
