"Leah and the Ghost Song"
by Joseph McCombs
You visited this place, I know;
Your heart was true and loving.
You gave the land all you could show --
The land, it gave you nothing.
You shuffled through the horror tour;
Your eyes were focused tightly.
Visions of ghosts were at your door --
They raped your dreamings nightly.
You thought of me over tea and toast
While looking through your window;
You may have even seen my ghost
Wandering the streets below.
You remembered me as you went along
With a single treasured poppy.
I remember you as I play the ghost song --
I hope it makes you happy.
