          Let's pretend it's the real thing
          & stay together all night
          Nothing means anything
          But it sure can mean something tonight.

We can call this love
And we can call this happiness
And maybe we'll feel better
In the morning.
We can have some drinks
And we can dance a little while
And we can be together
For now...

          Let's pretend it's the real thing
          & make the best of what we've got
          Nothing means anything
          But we can make it mean a lot.

I try not to ask for too much
And I try not to expect too much
Then I'm not missing too much
When it's gone.
But we can call this something
And we can be going somewhere
And maybe we'll even get there
In the morning...
