Dreamverse University

Starting out as a new coder is a daunting task.  Dreamverse University is a tutorial for new coders and a reference for those who just need a refresher.  The goal of this site is to remove the mystery of coding on Dreamverse and make the initial learning curve a little bit easier.

There are a few ways to use DVU.

1. Step through the Tutorial

If you're just starting out, the easiest thing to do is walk through the tutorial.  It begins with navigating your way through the basic file management and editing commands, which is great if you're new to Unix or to mud coding.  Next are sections are coding basic rooms, NPCs, and objects.  Each section is designed to start with something simple and then build on it.  If you are new to mud coding, it is highly recommended that you take the time to do each exercise in order.

2. Jump to a specific topic

If you know the specific question you want to answer, use the navigation buttons on the left to jump to that section.  The pull-down menu offers more detail than the buttons.
