When Mongoose was sold, Skip left for Giant. 2 and a half years ago he left Giant to become head designer At Schwinn. Skip was an excellent designer who was not appreciated at Giant. Their line suffered after he left. Bob Margevicius (a very close friend of mine) started on the East coast with Roadway. He was hired at West Coast Cycle (Nishiki) in 1980 . (Bob was also the 1974 U.S. Time Trial Champion.) He with Joel Davis designed the Nishiki Line. About 7 years ago he left West Coast to become President of Mongoose. His bikes have been the major reason for the success of the company. Six months ago he was named Executive Vice President of Specialized. I believe the it was his ability to design and great bike along with the ability to negociate excellent prices that prompted Specialized to hire him. It is my opinion that he is the best bike designer in the industry. Tom
